Costa Rica: Flowers

Costa Rica has beautiful flowers and trees in the rainforest that sometimes you see frogs sleeping on the back of the leaves, blending right in.

Costa Rica: Toucans!

Toucans look like fake birds to me.  I can't believe they are real and fly in the trees here in Costa Rica.  They are beautiful birds and look unreal.

Costa Rica: Monkeys

I saw two types of monkeys in Costa Rica - the howler monkeys and the white-faced monkeys.  The howler monkeys lived in the trees around our hotel and you can hear them howling non-stop, but when you see them, they just look like blobs on tops of trees, sleeping most of the day.  Below are the white-faced monkeys, which are a little more energetic and cheeky.

Costa Rica: Sloths!

The most famous animal to be known to come from Costa Rica is the famous Sloth! Spotting these animals in the wild is incredibly difficult as they tend to hang out in the tops of trees for 90% of their life and just come down when its time to get something to eat.  Below are two photos I captured of our sloth friends.

Costa Rica: Rincon de la Vieja National Park

You have to see the rainforest in Costa Rica where the air just feels like you're in a spa walking through.  In the rainforest, we hiked to a waterfall and spotted the below wildlife, including a Viper snake, which was very exciting.

Costa Rica: Reptiles

There are LOADS of crocodiles and other reptiles in Costa Rica, including iguanas.  The iguanas don't seem that unusual to us after living in Key Biscayne (where there are both crocodiles and iguanas), but lots of reptile-life in Costa Rica too.

Costa Rica: Palo Verde River

Palo Verde National Park in Costa Rica is filled of interesting wildlife, trees and flowers.  Its in the Guanacaste region of Costa Rica, which is known to be sunny, but yet Palo Verde has interesting wildlife, including monkeys and crocodiles that you feel you're out in the rainforest.
