The Chrysler Building still feels elegant against the Manhattan skyline — polished steel curves, art deco detail, and old New York ambition. Even surrounded by newer towers, it always stands out to me as a special building. We went up Summit One Vanderbilt, which had amazing views towering over the Chrysler Building.

NYC: View from Summit One Vanderbilt
On a clear day, I could see all the way to the Verrazano Narrows Bridge, which connects Staten Island (where I grew up) to Brooklyn from the Summit One Vanderbilt building in midtown Manhattan. Below is the view downtown with the notable new World Trade Center, and you can see the Verrazano Bridge in the background.
NYC: Empire State Building from Summit One Vanderbilt
Aside from the long lines, going up Summit One Vanderbilt was awesome. Multiple levels of amazing views. Art installations with these amazing views in the background. I loved it! But the lines were long, so it was a little grueling of a visit. Below are views of the Empire State Building from Summit One Vanderbilt.

NYC: Spiderman on the Brooklyn Bridge
There’s something very New York about Spider-Man on Brooklyn Bridge — all motion, steel cables, skyline, and chaos somehow working together. It feels gritty, like the kind of scene that only really makes sense suspended above the East River with Manhattan glowing in the background.
NYC: Brooklyn Bridge
The beautiful Brooklyn Bridge! All stone arches, steel cables, and the constant hum of the city moving underneath it. Walking across it feels a little cinematic no matter how many times you do it, especially when the skyline starts glowing on a nice day.
NYC: Views from the Brooklyn Bridge
I love walking over the Brooklyn Bridge. Its a very pleasant walk and cool to walk over such a landmark bridge. Below are three views from the bridge - the new World Trade Center, the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty.

NYC: Smog at night
Those orange-and-white towers you see on New York streets are temporary ventilation stacks, usually set up for subway, utility, or construction work beneath the street. They help move air in and out of underground spaces where crews are working. At night, they create a coat of smog that overhangs people walking on city streets.
NYC: Rainy subway station
Beneath the curved glass towers of Lipstick Building, the subway entrance glows against the rain-slicked sidewalks, steam curling up through the grates as umbrellas drift past in every direction.

NYC: Grand Central Station
Grand Central Terminal is one of New York City’s most iconic landmarks. Known for its celestial ceiling, grand marble staircases, and constant pulse of travelers beneath its famous four-faced clock. Opened in 1913, it blends historic elegance with the energy of modern Manhattan, serving as both a transportation hub and a symbol of the city itself. Below are photos of those travelers and the famous four-faced clock.

NYC: Empire State Building
My favorite spot in NYC to view the Empire State Building is from the rooftop bar, 230 Fifth. I hadn't been in years and the spot has been developed a lot since my last visit, with good lounge chairs and blankets and plenty of cocktails. But the views just below the Empire State Building are amazing. Below are images of the Empire State, and the sky was actually that grey in real life!
