Hawaii: Pololu Valley on the Big Island

The North side of the Big Island is where the surfers go to surf because of its strong winds.  Pololu Valley is a hike through trees down the mountainous terrain to be lead to a black-stone beach at the bottom that is a surfers paradise.  The remoteness of the spot adds to the breathtaking scenery and its a highly recommended stop-off if you're visiting the Big Island.
