Washington DC: Union Station

Union Station is Washington, DC’s grand railroad station, just steps from the U.S. Capitol. Designed by architect Daniel Burnham, its soaring Main Hall, marble floors, monumental arches, and ornate details were intended to make arriving in the nation’s capital feel like an event. Today it remains one of the busiest transportation hubs in the city, serving Amtrak, MARC, VRE, Metro, and buses, while also functioning as a shopping and dining destination.

On a rainy day in DC, its a great place to photograph some interesting architecture and interesting street-life.
