Washington DC: Build the Wall

 Outside the White House is a supporter of building Trump's border wall.  The supporter is holding the sign and also looks like the stature of a wall himself as he stands motionless.

 Below is an anti-Trump protestor outside the White House, calling for impeachment of President Trump. 

Washington, DC: Pro-Trump at the White House

 Outside the White House there are consistently both pro-Trump and anti-Trump demonstrators sharing their words of wisdom for anyone nearby.  Below is one of the pro-Trump supporters sharing his vision outside the White House in Lafayette Square. 

Washington DC: National Gallery of Art

 The clean lines of the National Gallery of Art make people touring the museum look like art as they browse through the hallways.

 Thankfully this sad little boy had his teddy bear with him to console him as he sadly waited for his dad in the National Gallery of Art.  

Virginia: Faces of Mt Vernon

The below gentleman caught the attention of a peering colonial soldier while he celebrated George Washington's birthday at his estate at Mt Vernon. 

Virginia: Arctic Fox

 I was able to photograph the illusive arctic fox at a wildlife rehabilitation facility in Virginia.  This little pal was full of energy before he had to be taken back to a chillier climate.

 The Eastern Screech Owl is a small owl that is native to the Americas.  They are so small and cute that they looked like a stuffed toy animal.   Below are some close-ups of the very cute screech owl.  

Virginia: Great Horned Owl

 The Great Horned Owl is a large owl, native to the Americas.  Its also known as the "Hoot Owl" and you can see his cheeky manner in the close-ups below. 

Virginia: Black Vulture

 Black Vultures roam from South America all the way up through North America.  They are a bird of prey and also a well known scavenger.  Below are some close-ups of a black vulture taken in a park in Virginia.  

Virginia: Gravelly Point

Gravelly Point Park is a park in Arlington, Virginia that is right next to Washington National Airport, DCA.  The park has fields for playing and paths for riding bicycles.  But it also has the benefit of airplanes landing and taking off right next to the park, which is pretty cool to see the planes so close as they land and take off from the airport.  

Washington DC: National Cathedral

 Washington National Cathedral sits in north-west DC on Wisconsin Avenue.  It is the site of many national events like funerals and weddings.  Additionally though, the Cathedral has beautiful grounds of gardens and fields that the community leverages for running around with children, having a picnic and getting some of DC's summer sun.  

The Cathedral was damaged significantly by the earthquake in August 2011 and has been fundraising still for restoration from the damage.  More information can be found here:  https://cathedral.org/architecture/earthquake/ 

I was able to be part of a group to climb to the top of the Cathedral up the rickety steps.  I'm not normally afraid of heights, but the open space and rickety steps definitely made me pause.  Below are images of the view from looking out of the top of the Cathedral.  

Washington DC: Flower Mart Festival

 The Flower Mart festival happens every year at the Washington National Cathedral since 1939.  The festival is filled with music, stalls, food, dancing and of course, flowers.  Below are some images of the beautiful Bhangra dancers that brought color and energy to the event.

New Orleans: Reflections in Jackson Square

The most poetic puddle I've ever spotted lies in Jackson Square in the French Quarter in New Orleans, where the lovely red architecture is perfectly reflected in a puddle in the square.  See shots of it below -- and if you're in New Orleans, be on the lookout for this puddle!

New Orleans: St Louis Cathedral

St Louis Cathedral in Jackson Square in the French Quarter in New Orleans is the oldest Cathedral in North America.  Below are two shots from the beautiful inside of the Cathedral.  The second shot is a "world peace shot" where the hand is being reflected and looks like its stretching out to reach the other.

Everywhere you walk in New Orleans, you can hear the music of buskers drifting through the air.  A walk through the French Quarter, you go from one theme song to the next of your walk through these musical alleys and streets.  Below are photos of one duo that stood out to me in Jackson Square.
