 The Hermitage museum in St Petersburg is the largest art gallery in the world.  And it truly is massive.  Catherine the Great founded the Hermitage, and it is a source of great pride for Russia.

Russia: St Petersburg Church of Spilled Blood

 Off Nevsky Prospect in Saint Petersburg is the Church of Spilled Blood.  There's a canal leading to this beautiful church and European-style buildings.
