Utah: Actual Antelope at Antelope Island State Park

Antelope are actually pretty hard to find in Antelope Island.  Instead, there are bison everywhere.  But I did not leave without thankfully spotting a herd of antelope.

Utah: Ranch on Antelope Island

In the middle of Antelope Island in Utah was a beautiful ranch with horses and gorgeous views in all directions.

Utah: More bison at Antelope Island

Bison that are roaming everywhere in the amazing Antelope Island State Park - just outside Salt Lake City, in the middle of the actual Salt Lake.

Utah: Be careful of the Bison!

So many warning signs in Antelope Island not to go near the bison.

Nevada: West Wendover Will

When I spotted that a 63 foot mechanical cowboy was just another 15 minutes drive past the Bonneville Salt Flats, I had to check it out. Wendover Will - who is in the Guinness Book of Records as the world's largest mechanical cowboy is worth the visit.  He is named after the man who created a service station in the town of West Wendover (a true hero!)... and the cowboy structure replaced a pole that had a light on top.  The glamour! Next time, I'll have to go at night since the cowboy lights up with neon lights at night.

Utah: Bonneville Salt Flats

The Bonneville Salt Flats are less than two hours from Salt Lake City on the border of Northwest Utah with Nevada.  They are flats of the former dried up Lake Bonneville.  Right now, they are flats covered in salt that are used for racing with speed records being set there - but cool place to walk around too.

Florida: View from Cape Florida Lighthouse

You can climb to the top of the Cape Florida Lighthouse at pretty limited hours during certain days of the week - but theres a beautiful panoramic view from the top.

Florida: Cape Florida Lighthouse

The Cape Florida Lighthouse is the oldest structure in Miami-Dade county, since 1825.  It has withstood and been repaired through storms, hurricanes and attacks from the Seminole Indians apparently.  It stands at the end of the beach in Bill Baggs State Park.

Florida: Beach in Crandon Park

The beach in Key Biscayne runs from Crandon Park in the north along the town beach to Bill Baggs state park at the end of the Key.  The beach water is clear and calm.  You can walk the length of the beach from Crandon to the Lighthouse in Bill Baggs in just a few hours.

Florida: Egyptian Geese in Crandon

The Egyptian Goose is a native species of Africa - invasive in Florida.  But a community of them live in Crandon Park in Key Biscayne.

Florida: Peacocks in Crandon Park

In Crandon Park, there is the site of the old Crandon Zoo, which is currently occupied by all sorts of birds, crocodiles and tons of aggressive peacocks.
