Rockport: Buzzing Bees

Rockport is a seaside town on the North Shore of Boston, with cobbled streets and novelty shops.  Its a great place to go on a summer day for a relaxing walk around a seaside town and to get some fish and chips.  Below are two photos of the buzzing bees in Rockport on their approach to some beautiful flowers.

Washington DC: From the top of the Washington Monument

The Washington Monument had only recently re-opened after damage from an earthquake that had caused the need for several years of repairs.  Booking tickets to go up the monument several months in advance, the view was worth the effort!  Below are photos from all four sides of the Washington Monument, as it is in the epicenter of the National Mall.  The first photo is of the Capitol Building.  The second of the Jefferson Memorial in the Potomac.  The third of the Lincoln Memorial.  And the last of the White House.

Washington DC: The Capitol Building

This was the last weekend for several years before the construction went up on the Capitol Building, where both Senate and House of Reps pass bills (or not) into US law.  So, I went to town getting photos, since this would be my last opportunity for a while without all the construction on the rotunda.

Washington DC: National Botanic Gardens

Although the National Botanic Gardens is a bit smaller than I expected from its grand name, I captured the two below shots of the same flower with different exposures.

Washington DC: The Washington Monument

The Washington Monument commemorates George Washington, the first President of the USA.  Below are photos of the obelisk in early July, with a very sunny and warm sky.

Washington DC: Obama's house

The 4th of July is America's Independence Day.  No better place to be for the 4th than in Washington DC, America's capital. Below is a photo of the White House on the 4th of July with bright and sunny skies.
